Introducing Misha’s Angels
Soldiers rescued Misha from Ukraine’s trenches and now he’s working to keep them safe!
Who is Misha?
A group of soldiers rescued Misha from the trenches in June 2023 and brought him back to Kyiv. One of these soldiers was Misha’s dad, Andrew, who is a US Marine veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He served with the Ukrainian Marines and is currently deployed to Ukraine’s eastern front with the 3rd Assault Brigade.
Misha’s mom, Emily, is from Michigan and has spent the last two years volunteering for Ukraine, first with the Ukrainian-American Crisis Response Committee of Michigan (CRC) in Detroit and then with the International Legion Fund (ILF) in Kyiv. She and Misha’s uncle, Vincent, who also worked with CRC and ILF, founded Misha’s Angels in November 2023 to support a number of units who desperately needed supplies.
Emily and Vincent operate out of Kyiv, where they’re able to get critical supplies directly into the hands of Ukraine’s defenders.
What We’ve Done
Misha has provided over $65,000 worth of critical aid to Ukraine’s defendrs since November 2023, including:
Night vision goggles and lasers
Drones and an anti-drone device
Mine detectors
Ballistic glasses
Tactical medical supplies, including IFAKs (individual first aid kits)
Winter Gear
Ukraine’s winters are tough. Misha might have a thick coat of fur, but the soldiers don’t. So Misha has been proud to provide them with all sorts of crucial cold-weather gear, including:
Thermal socks and underwear
Gloves
Sleeping bags
Hand and toe warmers
Power banks
Misha’s Philosophy
We believe it is important to protect our defenders not only physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. We have delivered socks and warmers for Christmas, along with handmade children’s cards and homemade cookies to remind our defenders that they are not forgotten. We delivered Valentine’s Day cards from children in Michigan along with our IFAKs. We plan to continue these morale boosts by sending trench showers, chap stick, and bug spray in the spring and summer.
PTSD
War takes a heavy mental toll on all of its participants. We are working with several organizations in Ukraine that are focused on combatting PTSD. We have assisted in connecting these organizations with experts in the US to help facilitate the sharing of knowledge. We were honored to be featured as a speaker at the “Together for Changes” veteran’s affairs conference in Kyiv in February, 2024.
Moving forward, we plan to focus more efforts in this crucial area.
Families
Protecting our defenders also means protecting their families. Thanks to UCARE, a Michigan-based organization that has been providing aid to Ukrainian orphanages for over thirty years, we were able to purchase and deliver Christmas presents to children of fallen soldiers.

Cupid’s Heroes: IFAK Valentine’s Day Fundraiser
We packed and delivered over 50 IFAKs for Valentine’s Day.
Local Events & Fundraisers in Michigan
During January and February, we participated in several fundraisers in Michigan. Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Dearborn, Michigan raised money for tactical medical supplies, including chest seals and quik litter stretchers.
We also visited Yoopers for Ukraine in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where we were honored to participate in several events, including a bridge walk and a wine and cheese night. Together, we raised over $5,000 for IFAKs and medical supplies. We are so very grateful for all of the support!

Former Congressman David Bonior, a friend of the Michigan CRC, is leading a delegation to Ukraine this April. We are excited to participate in this trip!
We will continue to supply units with much needed tactical medical supplies.
We are continuing our work with veterans organizations and mental health organizations.

Protect our Defenders
Our motto is “Protect our Defenders.” The supplies that we send help do this, whether it’s IFAKs to stop bleeding, warmers and thermal underwear to prevent hypothermia, or mine detectors to save limbs.
When we Protect our Defenders, we do so not only physically, but also mentally. IFAKs save lives and, by doing so, can prevent our defenders from witnessing a friend’s death, which can lead to PTSD and moral injury later.
When we Protect our Defenders, we protect not only them, but entire families as well. IFAKs allow our defenders to return home alive to the people who love them, saving the hearts of mothers and lovers. A tourniquet can save not just limbs, but entire family trees.
When we Protect our Defenders, we protect all of Ukraine, as it is these brave souls who are keeping civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, safe.
